wheelchair and took off, that woman died after being hit by lehigh avenue near masher street in philadelphia around 1:30 a.m. the driver we haven't several blocks before being stopped by police for an unrelated matter. the suspect is in custody. 6 people went to the hospital after an accident along the boulevard. four vehicles collided on the exit ramp for east falls. a man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in the neck outside an old city with -- restaurant. two men got into an altercation, this ended with one of the men being stabbed. one man stabbed the other outside the restaurant. the 33-year-old victim was taken to jefferson hospital in critical condition. there's details about a

shooting at a house party in chester county. the action cam was on the scene on the 1500 block of off and on lane in north coventry township. someone opened fire at a party hitting a 20-year-old man in the leg and grazing his face. the victim has been treated and released from the hospital. no arrests have been made. anyone with information about that shooter asked to contact north coventry police. the time 9:03 now to an interview you'll see on "action news," a man rushed to the scene of a fiery crash in delaware helped to pull a little boy from a burning truck. that man spoke exclusively with "action news" reporter, bob brooks. >> reporter: it's video that's scary to look at, a major accident in glasgow, an 18 wheeler collided with the pickup truck. the truck exploded into flames. the doors are twisted and jammed from the impact, everyone is trapped inside including a 6-year-old little boy. that's when a good samaritan

eladio de shielvs sprung into action. >> joe, the guy i work for, he said it looks like somebody is stuck inside the car. >> reporter: indeed it was the 67-year-old he and others saw and knew time was running out. >> there were several people trying to pull him out of the car. >> reporter: eladio de shielvs noticed a fire extinguisher from the tractor-trailer that didn't work, so he used it as a hammer. >> i picked it up and started banging the window, so it broke. >> reporter: the boy's leg was struck, the flames were getting bigger and others ran away. eladio de shielvs did not. >> everybody started backing off the car, i didn't know what it was, i didn't want to leave the car, the kid, it was the kid's life. i don't know what it was, i didn't want to leave the car. >> reporter: thankfully an officer showed up with a warning extinguisher and together the two saved the day. >> he sprayed down the back i think it might have lube --

lubricated the child's leg, i pulled on the leg and pulled him out of the car and gave him a hug. i was scared about what was going to happen from that. >> reporter: incredible story. there were two other people in the truck adult male and female. they were rescued, as well and taken to local hospital for treatment. reporting in wilmington, bob brooks, channel 6 "action news." >> we're learning about the final moments of a murdered penn state professor's life. george ishler is under arrest charged with killing ronald bettig. he deceptively drove him to a quarry near state college. he said he grew marijuana plants and he could help harvest them. when they arrived at the quarry, george ishler pushed ronald bettig off an 80-foot cliff. a man is in jail accused of

targeted figures every night. >> he had an ak-47 in his apartment to protect his money. anyone who thinks they are a victim is urged to call the montgomery county d.a. there's a warning about fentanyl. leaders in philadelphia say the drug is leading to more and more overdoses. annie mccormick has the details. >> reporter: it is philadelphia department of public health issues urgent health alert after seeing drug overdoses involving fentanyl. between 201 and 2015, fatal drug overdoses grew by 50% and in the same time overdoses yourself fentanyl grew 600%. it has a potency of 1500 times that of morphine.
